The day a group of students with autism sang at a Detroit Tigers Game

This poem was written by our son, Scott Howse, who attended Burger School for Autism in Garden City, MI. The poem is about his experience with their school choir, which performed at a Detroit Tigers Game!

Singing at the Stadium
I was too little to sing at Tiger Stadium, but here I was.
The national anthem.
With my friends from Burger School.
All autistic.
They said it couldn’t be done, but we were doing it.
couldn’t believe we were on live television.
The crowd liked us.
They cheered.
Suddenly, I didn’t feel so little anymore.
I was a big boy.
My dad saw it all.
I hit it out of the park like the baseball players.
